well hello | Peoria, IL newborn photographer

Hi everyone! I haven’t blogged in over a month! Can’t believe it’s been so long. Obviously, in the middle of the busy season here though so I had to let something go. October has been a wild month! Finished up shooting weddings for Nellie, Mini Sessions are finished up and were a HUGE hit and now a few more portrait sessions the next couple weeks and that will pretty much wrap up the 2011 shooting year :) If you didn’t already know, I’m still very active on the Amanda E. Facebook page. Head over HERE to “like” our page and you’ll be up to date with the most recent sneak peeks, announcements, etc. Don’t worry though, when things calm down a bit I fully plan on blogging each and every session I’ve missed this year. That will be a good winter project.

But in the meantime, I am blogging this adorable little session from last weekend. A beautiful newborn girl and her 2 year old big sister. SUCH cutie pies! It was a lovely day and probably the easiest newborn I’ve ever worked with. Thanks for being so cooperative for me Miss P :) And thanks so much you guys for having me into your home to capture your wonderful little family. Enjoy!

6 month session | Peoria, IL Baby Photographer

I just love this little baby girl so much. She is so sweet and happy :) I last photographed her as a newborn when she was a tiny peanut. I’m always amazed how much they can change in 6 short months. I’m very excited actually, I’ll be seeing all of my spring newborns back this fall :) If you didn’t see over the Facebook page, the Holiday Mini Sessions next month are booked. Very excited for those! In fact, October is just about full completely. 1 Saturday left and a handful of Sundays. But back on topic…here is a sneak peek of this little sweetie from last weekend. Holiday Mini Sessions are coming–update: all sessions FULL!

It’s that time again. I’m holding another mini session event on October 22! So what exactly is a mini session event? Well basically, I’ll be holding a series of mini (25 minute) sessions back to back for 4 hours (2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in the evening) on one day only. So hence why they’re “limited edition”–there are only 8 spots available. So why a mini session? These can be great for marking a baby milestone, maternity sessions, a “school photo” to hand out to family, etc. Maybe you’ve been meaning to book a full session but just don’t have the time? Or maybe you just want a taste of the custom lifestyle photography experience. These are perfect for that–-short and sweet. Details are below, but basically it’s a quick 25 minute session, then you get an online gallery with 10 images to choose from and included is a set of 25 press printed holiday cards and 1 mounted 8×10 portrait. With a cost of $125 for the whole thing. The morning sessions will be an urban location and the evenings will be a more natural location. Once they’re gone, they’re gone and I won’t be having them again until likely next Spring.

nellie | Peoria, IL Maternity Photographer

This session is definitely one to remember. For two reasons. One, I got to photograph my talented friend and colleague, Nellie Gould! Nellie and I met randomly in a prenatal yoga class 2 years ago and I’m so glad to know her. You can see her fabulous work HERE. She did an amazing job photographing my family last year and now this year, it’s her turn! She’s just a few short months away from welcoming twins, which is so exciting! But for now, it was just her, her husband and their beautiful 2 year old daughter. Photographing another photographer is always a lot of fun. So why else was this session memorable? Well, it was my first time working while a turkey vulture circled us overhead, lol. It was freaky to say the least. Still a beautiful evening though with lots of fun moments. Thanks again Nellie for entrusting your beautiful family to me! Can’t wait to do it again! Hope you guys enjoy these images…

urban family session | Peoria, IL Family Photographer

Here’s a sneak peek from a fabulous session earlier this week. We shot at various locations in downtown Peoria and it was just perfect. The weather was amazing, the sky was clear and blue and this family was wonderful! This little girl was so fun! She shares the same name AND birthday as my daughter, so she was a little extra special to me :) Such a natural in front of the camera though. Relaxed, fun, full of giggles. And in case you didn’t already know…giggles are the best. Love the giggles. That and her beautiful eyes and adorable outfit = perfection. Hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek, can’t wait to show you the rest!

light & airy | Peoria, IL Family Photographer

I’m loving how this session is coming out. There is just such a light & airy feel to it. The soft hues they dressed in, the beautiful summer evening sky and soft sunlight. Wonderful! This was a session we did about 1 week ago, I’m trying to keep the blog from getting too behind again. I had so much fun working with this family! Lots of fun, lots of laughs, perfect little happy faces. These kiddos were so sweet and just fun to be around! Thanks so much you guys for coming to me this year! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! 10 day newborn | Peoria, IL newborn photographer

Well, even though it’s technically Monday now, I’m still going to count this as TWO blog posts in one day! lol This one is a sweet, 10 day old baby boy I photographed 1 week ago. Believe it or not, he’s my first newborn *boy* of the year! Every other newborn has been a girl. He was so super, duper sweet though. A tiny little peanut with the brightest eyes and sweetest newborn smile. Thanks again Amber & Matt for having me into your home to photograph your lovely new family. One year session | Peoria, IL child photographer

Hello my poor neglected blog! I’m so sorry I haven’t paid much attention to you this summer. I’ve been taking it easy and trying to just enjoy life and enjoy my family. A few sessions here and there. Some second shooting for Nellie while she bakes those twins :) A week long family trip to Lake Michigan (SO much fun). Some home projects. And just trying to soak up every minute with my baby girl before she headed off to kindergarten last week. But I’m now in the beginning stages of…duh, duh, duh….the busy season! I’ll be shooting every week now and the blog (and Facebook) will be more active. For those that have been wondering, I am going to hold another mini session event this fall! It will be late October. I’ll likely announce the date and times this coming week, so stay tuned.

But onto a quick sneak peek for some super special and super patient clients. This 1 year session, sadly, marks the end of their baby plan. Once again, it was so much fun to see little Brady every few months. Even though I have kids of my own and I *know* how much can change and how much they can grow in just a few short months, I’m always amazed at the change! Just last fall, this little guy was just sitting up, not even quite mobile yet. Now he’s a full on toddler–running, jumping, jibber jabbering and even swinging a golf club. We held this session back in July, during the heat wave, but you’d never know. They still had such high spirits and fun attitudes. Thanks so much for everything you guys!

lucky seven | Peoria, IL Family Photographer

Hello all! I’m throwing up a quick sneak peek from a wonderful session I had over the weekend. Quick b/c I’m super busy this week preparing for my sweet (baby) girl’s 5th Birthday AND Father’s Day–both on Sunday. We’re sending her away for a few hours while we give her room a fun surprise makeover. I’ll post pics next week :) Anyway, onto the session. This was a fun family of 7, with siblings from 18 all the way down to 6….how fun is that? And fun they were! Lots of laughs, lots of love and ending the session with everyone jumping into their pool fully clothed. fuzzy | Peoria, IL Baby Photographer

Here is a sneak peek from a sweet little 6 week old I got to meet a week or so ago. I don’t get many calls for 6 week olds, so this was a refreshing change from my usual newborns. Funny thing was though, he wanted to sleep just like a newborn. Such a good little guy for us :) These photos of him and momma are going to be a surprise for daddy for Father’s Day…isn’t that a wonderful idea! I love it! You probably wouldn’t guess from the photos, but it was pouring down rain outside the day I took these. I have been having the *worst* luck with the weather this year :( More rained out sessions than probably the last 3 years combined. Grrr. Oh well though, we’re working with what we can get. So are you wondering why I titled this blog post “fuzzy?” B/c this little guy at 6 weeks old, was the fuzziest little babe I’ve ever seen! His ear fuzz actually curled! It was the *cutest* thing ever. I literally couldn’t stop petting his fuzzy little ears.
