life is a journey | Peoria, IL Child Photographer

So this is a sneak peek from my session LAST Friday. So sorry you guys for making you wait so long. This week has been a tough one. But I’m so glad to finally have some images to show you guys. This family is super cool, let me just say. They already had 3 super, insanely cute (and sweet) kids and about 7 weeks ago, they adopted a sweet little 18 month old girl from Africa. She just loves them SO much and the feeling is mutual. She’s so attached already and it’s amazing. Lots of love & connection there. And I love that. I got to spend last Friday evening romping around the beach with them. How fun is that? And it marked the 3rd session this summer that I have come home with wet, sandy feet :) The weather and light were gorgeous as well. Unfortunately, one of the boys was under the weather and rested in the car, but the other 3 kids were on it! Lots of sandy toes, cheeky smiles, silly faces, giggles and dum dums…couldn’t have asked for a better night or a better group! Hope you like your images Mandy and thanks again for choosing me!

Sweet little J turns One | Peoria, IL child photographer

Here is a sneak peek for a very patient family. They’ve been eagerly awaiting seeing a few images from their session last Monday. Their sweet little girl was turning one, so we had the session on her actual birthday! She was soooo sweet! Gentle, inquisitive, happy…everything a little girl should be! She was having so much collecting sticks & pieces of wood. She was joined by big brother, mommy, daddy & Sadie the dog. It was a scorcher, but everyone did perfectly. Thanks again Tammy & Chad for choosing me! You guys were great to work with…I had a lot of fun! Mommy was worried I didn’t get anything…hope this puts her mind at ease :)

PS: as always, they’ll receive a FREE 5×7 print for every 10 comments they receive on this blog post! Show some blog love!

Did I mention that she had the *yummiest* little baby feet ever??? :)

B Family sneak peek | Peoria, IL Family Photographer

I am soooo behind on sneak peeks again. I’m so sorry everyone. Thanks for bearing with me. This session is from last weekend. I have 2 more sneak peeks that I’m planning to get up this weekend. Anyway, back to these guys. They are very beloved clients of mine who moved away to Colorado about 2 years, shortly after their first session with me. Well, they were back visiting family (who were also clients of mine 2 years ago) and decided to have a family session (including cousins & grandparents) while they’re back! It was fantastic to see everyone again! I can’t believe the little baby girl I remember is a 2 year old little lady now. Time truly flies. They decided to have the session at Papa & Nina’s beautiful home. It was the perfect location. Good light, good laughs. Thanks again Virginia & Evan for coming back…you guys are always a pleasure to work with (as is the rest your extended family). Enjoy!

Remember: they’ll get a FREE 5×7 for every 10 comments on this blog post!

Sisters | Peoria, IL child photography

annnnnnd, we’re caught up! yay! Before I get to this fabulous sneak peek, I have some fun news to announce! You may have noticed a new logo/watermark gracing my blog images lately. Well, in about a week, Amanda E. Photography is getting a complete face lift! I’m so incredibly excited! I’ll be launching a brand new look, logo, color scheme, website and even the blog will get some updating! It’s going to be super fun. So stay tuned…

Now onto the images. This was a sisters’ session from this past Friday. And such cutie pie sisters they were. I had so much fun with them (don’t I always though?). They ran, they jumped, they danced, they loved, they laughed. I broke out Mr. Monkey, as I usually do, and the 4 year old absolutely fell in love with him. I mean, most kids love him (you’ll see him float in and out of images) but she REALLY connected with him. I felt awful when I had to take him back home :( But I promised her that at least she would always have these images of the two of them together. I hope she likes them. Thanks again you guys for traveling all the way from Chicago for the session! It was great to meet you and I hope you love the memories that were made…

J Family session | Peoria, IL family photographer

whew, one more down, one more blog post to go! Tomorrow I’ll get my session from Friday night up and then I’ll finally be caught up! yay! Now onto this post. This was another wonderful little family from last weekend. Two little brothers this time. They are such buddies. So cute! Their mom was actually worried that all they would give me were “toothy grins” lol. And she was right, they were just full of smiles & fun times. We ran, laid in the grass, got shirtless and played “Hulk” (well they did, not me, lol), hunted for bugs and then the whole family went creeking. It was a blast! I love my job :) Thanks again Mandy & Jeremy! Enjoy…

I’d also like to wish a Happy 4th Birthday to this guy :)

backyard summer fun | Peoria, IL Child Photographer

First off, let me apologize for being so behind on sneak peeks. I have 4 of them piled up and waiting to go now, so bear with me as I crank them out this weekend. This one is from last Friday night.

So this session was a little bittersweet. It was the final session of my very first baby planner. He’s 18 months old now (we skipped the 9 mo. session and opted for the 18 mo. instead). And I can’t believe how much he’s grown in the last 6 months!! At his last session he was crawling and just *starting* to look like a big boy. And now….he’s arrived! He’s running all over the place, he talks, he loves to play golf, he has a mouth full of teeth….just so grown up. It made me kinda sad. But we had a good time, despite my being overly sentimental, lol. This time, we just had a casual backyard/golf course summer session. All the good stuff like eating dirt, golfing, sliding, drinking from the sprinkler and of course…swimming with your clothes on! Thanks again Amy & Mike for all the good times these past 2 years. You have such a great little family! Enjoy a few favorites…

family fabulousness | Peoria, IL Family Photographer

Did I make that word up? Oh well, maybe I did. It fits though. This family was just that…fabulous! They were brand new clients to me. I’m having a lot of those lately and loving it. Can’t wait to work with my regulars though also :) We decided to do an urban session and a more natural setting. Both worked so well. They had 3 of the best kids I’ve ever worked with. So sweet. The boys had gorgeous red hair (love) and all three had freckles (double love). The kids were just posing away, setting up all kinds of shots for me…lots of ideas…it was so cute. Big sister is a gymnast and that was super fun! She was flipping and flying and leaping all over the place. We were blessed with lovely weather and perfect light as well. And to top all of that off, I got a hug from big sister when we were done :) Couldn’t have been a better night. Thanks for being so patient with me, while I got your sneak peek up. I hope to get another one up tomorrow from my beautiful newborn session on Sunday. I’m loving being back in the swing of things. I love my job :)

Thanks,

A :)

Back in the saddle :: K Family sneak peek!

I’m back baby! This past Saturday I had my first session since last October! Wow, that was quite a break. It was nice though. I’ve much enjoyed spending time with my baby boy & girl and watching them grow before my eyes. It’s nice to start working again though. And what a family to start back with….11 people! They were awesome though. A lot of fun! The 4 kids were super cute and all did so well! I had great front door light to work with as well. That’s the one nice thing about being a natural light photographer shooting in the dead of winter…snow is a natural light reflector! Thanks again guys for trusting me to capture these moments for you…

last but not least | M Family sneak peek

Well this session was sort of bittersweet. These guys are longtime friends and I had a blast shooting their family, but it’s my last session of the year. They were so fun & laid back…perfect for an *almost* 9 months pregnant photographer, lol. And the fact that they’re such a beautiful family doesn’t hurt :) This session was from last weekend and since you guys have waited so patiently, I put up a super sized sneak peek for you! Hope you enjoy…

In other news, as I mentioned, I’m now officially done for 2009. I’m due in about 3.5 weeks! I’m planning to take all of November, December and probably January off. I’ll more than likely start back up in February with *small* sessions. Maternity, newborn, babies and possibly toddlers. I’ll start outdoor family sessions back up again in the Spring. If you’d like to inquire about any early 2010 sessions, feel free to drop me an e-mail. Just know that I may be a *little* slower in responding. I’ll be checking for messages at least once a week though.

R Family sneak peek

First off, thanks so much to everyone who came out to Grand Prairie last Saturday to see me! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. The weather was great (despite my sitting in direct sun ALL day) and you helped me raise money for the local Attachment Parenting group…thanks again!

About 2 hours after I left the vendor fair, I headed out to shoot this family of 13! They’re old friends from my grade school days and it was nice to see everyone again…except all grown up with kids of their own! We had lovely weather for the session, minus the gnats! What’s with the gnats this year? I walk out of the house and they attack me! uugh! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy a small sampling of your images…

And one more quick update. I’m now 34 weeks along! I’m done shooting after this month and I have 2 sessions left. A little bittersweet, but the break will be nice too :)

PS: Don’t forget that Amanda E. Photography is on Facebook! Here’s the LINK to become a fan! Then you can share your sneak peek on your own Facebook page :)
